This is my story...
This week we're excited to hear from Neil Scott-Barbour. He will share
his work/life journey and how he serves others with the gift of voice he's been blessed with in his life.
Neil was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK in 1942, and during his long life he has traveled around the world and lived in London, Amsterdam, Daytona Beach, Johannesburg, Salt Lake City.
Neil was trained as an actor at the age of 12 and performed in many school plays.
Until 2008 he was a successful international Business Development Executive with “serial entrepreneurial” tendencies and much management, advertising, public relations, marketing, sales, and operations experience. working with companies in the advertising, airline, sports, hospitality, special event, tour, and travel industries.
Neil accepted Christ as his Lord and savior in 2002.
In 2009 God spoke to Neil to use the voice gifts He had given him during those early acting classes! He began to use these gifts of authentic, distinctive British voices (and a variety of others) to record business voiceovers, on-hold business phone messages and later narration of fiction and non-fiction audiobooks for adults and children.
He also was a Master of Ceremonies for many events.
Further guided by God he then created an entertainment niche as a voice actor or expressive reader to residents of Senior Living and Care Communities. This then expanded to include readings at children’s daycare centers, elementary schools, and many other facilities.
We hope you’ll make plans to join us. You are encouraged to arrive at 7:30 to enjoy a time of networking & socializing from 7:30 am – 8:00 am (coffee and water provided). The meeting begins promptly at 8am.
